Many of the students at SUNY Cortland think that this miniscule town is amazing. do you agree?
Living in Cortland is different in every way than living in your home town. Everyone knows the major hotspots of this town. Even as freshmen you know every single bar there is to go to.
Another very big thing in Cortland is definitely its Greek Life. I'm in Alpha Phi and I absolutely love it. Everyone who's involved in greek life is very "patriotic" you could say towards their fraternity or sorority. It's like having a whole other family at school. They are the reason why i want to come back to school when we have christmas break and our summer vacation. It is unfortunate that many cortland goers dislike the greeks. If they only knew what we were really all about they probably wouldnt think such negative thoughts about all of us.
Anyways, the sports teams are definitely the other significant part of this campus. I'm not really too familiar with the girls sports but i know and have many good guy friends from the mens teams. All of the guys are really nice and fun to hang out with. They know how to have a good time. A couple of them happen to be my really good guy friends from my home town, so it makes it that much better to be around them. Many students love to represent the sports teams. For example the football game is going on right now and there are a ton of people there going to just cheer our team on. It's kind of like a unity thing on our campus. Everyone just gets together and forget about everything else, they show some school spirit. It may sound kind of lame but it's true.
So overall Cortland is the best (college) town in America and everyone should want to come here =]. I am absolutely dreading the day that I would have to leave here. I'm only a junior right now so I still have some time.

Living in cortland is literally living a completely different world. Everyone knows everyone, and to be honest it feels like high school all over again (well minus the ridiculous amount of alcohol getting consumed). This is my senior and last year of being in Cortland, and im gonna miss it alot!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you its really different. I am from Syracuse and I am used to not being in a small area. I transfered here last year from OCC and my first night here I new where to go and what spots to hit up just by asking like 2 people. I like it here its different but good at the same time.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree Pseud. I always say that going away to school is like living two different lives because there are so many differences from being at home and being away at school. You have completely different friends, different room, different bars, and your family isn't near you. I also agree with the fact that Cortland is completely amazing and I dont know what Im gona do when I graduate because I want to party at Cortland for the rest of my life!
ReplyDeleteCompletely agree. Kids in my hometown who did not go away to college tell me how much I miss out on but in reality they have no idea. The nightlife here is ridiculous and some of my most fun times have been here
